Year of No Fear “Health AND Healing”

(All scripture from the World English Bible, ebible.org, all rights reserved)

behold, I will bring it health and healing, and I will cure them; and I will reveal to them abundance of peace and truth. I will restore the fortunes of Judah and Israel, and will build them as at the first. I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against me. I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned against me and by which they have transgressed against me.
Jeremiah 33:6–8 (emphasis added)

Health and healing are a major focus of multi-billion dollar industries. Thing is, they can promote health but they are unable to provide healing. What they provide is fixing. Patching. They can take what you have and deal with some of it. They can take some of the rest of it and teach you how to ‘manage’ it. They can take the rest and tell you how to cope while it kills you. They aren’t really in the business of getting you well. Not that they don’t WANT to. Most of them do. What they are in the business of is one of two things. The bad ones are in business to make money, so they monetise sickness. The decent ones are in business to keep things from getting out of control. In you, in the community, in the region, and in the country. The good ones try, but they are stuck in a system that can’t deliver the goods. But they’re really happy when your problem is solved.

By solved, I mean that they can kill your flare up. Sometimes they can get something out of you. But it’s always until the next time. Until remission stops. In the medical community, remission is a diminution of the seriousness or intensity of disease or pain. A temporary recovery. It means an INACTIVE DISEASE. You see that? NOT A CURE! Inactive. A state that keeps symptoms under control and helps you maintain a good quality of life. No WONDER it is so hard to keep positive. Look up Cancer Remission. It is a PERFECT definition of how the medical system works: The absence or decrease of cancer symptoms. Rates vary based on type of cancer and treatment. Can be either partial or complete. Does not mean ‘cured’ as recurrence can occur. I am not knocking the medical profession. That’s the best they can do and there are some brilliant and dedicated people working to bring remission to every disease and sickness that walks the face of the earth.

But that isn’t good enough. I don’t want worldly remission. I want BIBLICAL remission. Remission in the Word is to lay aside something wholly. To desist from. To release (that is a complete letting go) from the guilt or penalty of. To cancel or refrain from inflicting. To restore or consign (give over to another’s care) to a former status or condition. Now, I like the last one. That’s the one I am looking for. To consign is to give, transfer, or deliver into the hands or control of another — to commit especially to a final destination or fate. That is what I want. That is what I EXPECT. That is what the Word PROMISES. I give and transfer the control of my health to the Lord God Almighty where it will stay with finality. My health is in the hands of Yahweh. What is in my body is NOT my health. MY health is in His hands. In my BODY I have something else entirely.

In my body resides the Nature of God. “For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse” (Romans 1:20). Everywhere I look I see His handiwork. It is full of complexity, beauty, and an interconnecting net of self-correcting systems. Everything else is of the curse: decay, deterioration, entropy, and death. So none of THAT is of Him. “This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5). God is light. Light in which there is no darkness, no shadow, no anything but pure, PURE light. Every time the sun shines, I can stand in it, look up, and imagine what the Light of Life is really like. It is an affirmation in my soul that the Lord God is GOOD. “We know and we have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in God, and God remains in him” (1 John 4:16). God is in me. As I abide in Jesus, Jesus abides in me. Now it’s getting interesting.

If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:10–11). Isn’t that EXCITING? Just by being inside of us, the Holy Spirit is giving life to our mortal bodies. It is regenerating us from the DNA level on up. We age by marking the passage of time. We don’t age in our bodies. We get restored (1 Peter 5:10). We don’t deteriorate and we don’t weaken. We renew (Psalm 103:5). Does it sound impossible? Sometimes. But we serve the God of the impossible (Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27; Luke 1:37, 18:27; Genesis 18:14; Ephesians 3:20).

If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man’s work, pass the time of your living as foreigners here in reverent fear, knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things like silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, the blood of Christ, who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in this last age for your sake, who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God” (1 Peter 1:17–21). The Father raised Jesus FROM THE DEAD. That is about the most total, absolute, and complete impossible thing we have ever thought of (a close second is a virgin birth where the woman is a virgin after the birth and goes on having a normal life and more natural children without any issues — but that happened too (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:27, Matthew 13:55, Mark 6:3). The Father DID the impossible and we can speak to Jesus today because of that (Matthew 28:18–20). We are born again into His resurrection because of that (Romans 6:5–6). We are new creations because of that (2 Corinthians 5:16–17). This puts us in a unique place.

We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:20–21). Do you see that? Do you see what you are? You are the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST. Not on your own. Grafted into the Jewish nation, the beloved Children of God (Romans 11:11–27). We are connected to Jesus, the branches of His vine, abiding in Jesus and unable to do a thing without Him (John 15:1–11). Abiding in Him, we are the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD. That means that God’s RIGHTEOUSNESS is our new nature. THAT is what is in me. MY health is in His hands. HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS is in my body.

That means I don’t have to accept ANYTHING in my body that isn’t compatible with that nature. That nature — HIS nature — is MY nature now. Sickness? Nope. It can be reported to me by the world. Doctors can say anything they want about what they notice in the flesh. But I won’t accept it. I will hear it. I will take it to the cross. And I will leave that report right there. The RIGHTEOUSNESS of God combined with the WORD that feeds me will change that report from whatever they said to what the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY says about me. The Word is health to my body and healing to my bones (Proverbs 3:8). It refreshes me. My marrow, my nerves, my sinews, my muscles, my veins, my cells, my DNA. We can read the begats all day and walk away without a sniffle in my head if we understand the power of the Word. We can take communion and walk away from it healed in every way, if we understood it. The blood of Communion is the ratification of the covenant Jesus made in the body of Communion through His death and resurrection to life again. We are COVENANT PARTNERS in that resurrection. That resurrection is LIFE. How can we walk away from Communion sick? Get it in your heart. Get it so firmly in your heart that a nuclear blast could not jar it. Get it as far deep down in you as your conviction of salvation. It is THAT serious. It is that much a promise. And a promise from the Lord is a promise you can take anywhere in creation and it will be just as true and fresh as when you received it.

The Lord is WAITING for you to take the health and healing He brought. Jesus died. He sent out the Word of healing. He sent out the Word of peace and truth. He sent out the Word of restoration. He sent out the Word of cleansing. He sent out the Word of pardon. He sent out His anointing of Blood and Fire and Water. Remission. TOTAL, ABSOLUTE, COMPLETE, and FINISHED remission. Pure. Whole. Nothing missing. Nothing broken. SHALOM. “Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace (SHALOM) with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:1–2). We can have FAITH to access the GRACE He gives us. Most of us can handle that. We can grasp that. We get saved by that. Awesome. But we can get the rest of it too. We can have FAITH to access the SHALOM He gives us.

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful” (John 14:27). Remission as JESUS gives us in His SHALOM. Not remission as the world gives through its systems. If that is all you can believe for, may God lead you to the best doctors, the best procedures, and the best medication this world can produce. But if you can get the Word into your heart, you can be SHALOM. You can walk in wellness. You can walk in REMISSION from this world. You can have God’s own anointed RIGHTEOUS cure for all of our health through the healing of all our things through Jesus’ work in, on, and through the cross. Nothing missing. Nothing broken. Nothing sick. Nothing unwell. Nothing diseased. Nothing viruses. Nothing weak. Nothing lacking. Nothing hurting. Well in all ways — body, soul, spirit — healed by the bruises, stripes, and sounds of Jesus (1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:16–17, Isaiah 53:5).

Daily Affirmation of God’s Love: Isaiah 52:7

God is a God of purpose. Of covenant. He does nothing to just be doing it. He has NO WHIMS. There are NO ACCIDENTS in God. There is a plan. There is a purpose. TO EVERYTHING. God cannot lose. God cannot fail. He IS. Now, then, and later. He is the God who REIGNS. Not the God who sometimes does some stuff. Not the God who considers things and wonders what to do. Not the God who loses sleep because what if they don’t? No. He is the GOD WHO REIGNS. Do you announce the peace that He brings humanity? I hope so. It is how we get saved. By hearing that God actually cares. By hearing that God died for us. That He cancelled, destroyed, wiped out, and emptied the account of sin we were attached to. Do you publish FULL peace, or partial? Peace is about more than feeling content that we are not weighed down with sin. Peace is about more than feeling content that one day we will be with Him. Peace is about more than knowing that we can talk to Him, learn from Him, or be corrected by Him. FULL PEACE is the news that we are in REMISSION from sin. The total, absolute lack of sin’s business in our lives. We don’t have that nature. We don’t have those finances. We don’t have that health. We don’t have those thoughts. We don’t have that weakness. That is all outside the door (Genesis 4:7). DON’T OPEN THE DOOR! It will try to come on you. It misses you. Sin loves company. LEAVE THE DOOR ALONE! Get that Armour of God on yourself. Get the Word in your heart. Open the mail slot and shout the Word out there at what is on your doorstep! God loves you! God REIGNS in your life! Declare it! Seize it! Live it! Word it! Publish FULL PEACE.
