Daily Affirmation #347

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27, MEV). The more society trucks along, the deeper we examine our psyche. Sometimes, it becomes valuable. Sometimes, it holds us back. It all depends on HOW we apply what we learn and HOW we function as a group. For the last many decades, there has been a shift from practical living to theoretical living. We live more through digital mediums and other remote mediums than we do in the nitty-gritty trenches. As such, we have lost some of our social muscle. We’re more susceptible to injury and we take it more and more seriously as time goes on. But way back before any of this came up, God knew it was coming. God knew how humanity functions. He made a Way for us to avoid injury to our psyche in ANY society and ANY technological level. He gave us His Spirit. He gave us His peace. He gave us something other than feelings to base our emotions on. He gave us the ability to CHOOSE to not be offended. To CHOOSE not to be afraid. To CHOOSE not to be troubled. It works in person to person communication, and that is valuable. It works even BETTER in our interactions with the STRUCTURE of society. Crises can happen, but we can choose to remain calm and at peace. NOT because we’re super human, but because we CHOOSE to rely on Him. Social upheaval could come, structures governing our lives could fail, and we could hum along without being upset. NOT because there is nothing there to be upset about, but because we can CHOOSE to go with His game plan. His moral character. His resources. Anything that goes wrong has a superior option that never fails. And ALL those superior options are HIM. We have a true gift in being allowed to rely on God for everything we do and everything we say. We can use Him to create our moods, fix our moods, and monitor our speakings – if we rely on Him and allow Him to guide us. We NEED direction and He HAS direction for us. Be willing and be obedient to what He says. Check it out in the Word. Let Him become the boat that keeps you afloat no matter WHAT is going on.
