“No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, and He will not permit you to be tempted above what you can endure, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13, MEV). God loves us too much not to make sure we have a way to escape. No matter what our circumstances, Jesus has a way out of that temptation. This doesn’t mean we won’t have to endure some things. It doesn’t mean there’s always a way to escape difficult circumstances (2 Timothy 3:12). It doesn’t mean God doesn’t send more your way than you can endure – God isn’t sending negative ANYTHING your way. It means that when the world tempts you or the devil tempts you, God will ALWAYS have a way to avoid succumbing to that temptation in Jesus. It doesn’t matter if it’s lying, speeding, adultery, murder, dishonesty, cheating, or simply not trusting in God (Romans 14:23). In Jesus, we have a way out. We ALWAYS have a way to trust in Jesus, to turn to Jesus, to talk with Jesus, to hang onto Jesus, or to seek Jesus out. We always have that ability. It’s given to us as a gift. Whenever temptation arises, if we will turn our attention and our eyes to Jesus, if we will ask Holy Spirit what the proper action, thought, or words are, we will ALWAYS have a way to kick the temptation to the curb. We will always be able to choose Jesus. That’s a POWERFUL promise. That’s real love. Always being there for us and always letting us get to Himself.
