Daily Affirmation #361

Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be jealous of those who do injustice,” (Psalm 37:1, MEV). Don’t fret. Don’t be afraid. Be safe from fear. Be without fear. Do not be dismayed. Fear no evil. Of whom shall I be afraid? I will put my trust in you. Have peace. Be at peace. Walk in peace. God tells us these things again and again throughout scripture. He is either telling not to be the negative thing or to engage the positive thing. He does it over 365 times one way or the other. God never has to repeat Himself. If He IS repeating Himself it is because we didn’t get it the first time. Human thinking says that fear can be entertainment. That fear or worry is inevitable. That anxiousness is a medical condition. And that in some cases fear is beneficial – either as a warning or as a spark of change/motivation to succeed at something. That it is an evolutionary skill we learned way back when. But God doesn’t think that is right. He knows we deal with it and struggle with it. But He didn’t create it. He didn’t give it to us. And He doesn’t want us to have it or deal with it or manage it. He wants us FREE of it. Completely and totally. He tells us to let go of the negative. He tells us to embrace Him as our positive. He tells us this over 365 times. We can listen one way, or the other, or both. But we really SHOULD listen. Fear is NOT entertainment. It has NO VALUE. We DO NOT need it. Peace is our RIGHT. Freedom is our RIGHT. God gave them to us and they live in Jesus. If WE will also live in Jesus and let Jesus live through us, then we ALSO will have them. Let go of fear and all its babies. Rest in Jesus and let your trusting in Him birth real and true peace in your heart.
