“I waited patiently for the Lord, and He turned to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet on a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God; many will see it, and fear, and will trust in the Lord” (Psalm 40:1-3, MEV). According to Oxford Languages, a problem is defined as ‘a matter or situation regarded as unwelcome or harmful and needing to be dealt with and overcome’. No one likes problems. Also according them, a situation is defined as ‘a set of circumstances in which one finds oneself; a state of affairs’. Everyone finds themselves in situations. When we seek Him, God lifts us up. He sets us above our problems (Deuteronomy 28:13; Psalm 45:7; Psalm 91). They stop being PROBLEMS we need to solve or escape from. They become SITUATIONS we are in. That He has solutions for. That He saw coming. That He has equipped us to operate in – if we’ll listen to Him and obey. We don’t need to be plagued, worried, upset, or anxious. We can be secure, joyful, encouraged, and ready to work as directed. Because it is God who is our Source. God who is in charge. Holy Spirit will guide you, correct you, talk to you, lead you, and instruct you. He is our comfort. Our companion. Our leader. He points to Jesus who points to the Father who is our Source. Connected to God, there is NOTHING that cannot be handled. The STUFF going on doesn’t change, but our ROLE in it changes from someone under attack to an Overcomer in Jesus. That’s the position we are meant to be in all the time. With HIM and in SITUATIONS, not stuck in problems. Ever.
