In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of his grace.
Ephesians 1:7 (emphasis added)
Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. It is the absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government. It is the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. It is the state of being physically unrestricted and able to move easily. It is the state of not being subject to or affected by (a particular undesirable thing). Freedom is a TREMENDOUS thing. “For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke of slaver” (Galatians 5:1). We are free. Free! Free by the blood of The Lamb.
Your body is YOUR body. It isn’t the government’s. It isn’t your children’s. It isn’t your boss’. It isn’t your doctor’s. It isn’t your pastor’s. You aren’t your body’s. Your body is YOURS. YOU are in charge. “Do not give the devil an opportunity” (Ephesians 4:27). How? “You must let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but only what is beneficial for the building up of the one in need, that it would give grace to those who hear” (Ephesians 4:29). Guess what? YOU are one of those in need. YOU are one of those to whom grace will be given when you hear. Hear what? Your words of belief and trust. “You must put away all bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and slanderous talk—indeed all malice” (Ephesians 4:31). You’re in need of good, encouraging words. You need to be built up. And your body needs to hear you say them. “for you were at one time darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live like children of light—for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth—trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather expose them” (Ephesians 5:8-11). Don’t steal out of your ears the words of truth that your body needs to hear. We are in Jesus! We’re not who we were. Ruach HaKodesh is inside us! We are not subject to the rules we USED to be subject to. We are FREE from them. Your body may be FEELING something, but we don’t have to TAKE that feeling and turn it into an emotion. We are FREE in Jesus from what the flesh wants. Free!
“Therefore consider carefully how you live—not as unwise but as wise, taking advantage of every opportunity, because the days are evil. For this reason do not be foolish, but be wise by understanding what the Lord’s will is” (Ephesians 5:15-17). We KNOW the Father’s will. It is throughout scripture. From the very first verse to the very last verse. He wants us to be free. He doesn’t want us in bondage. He wants us free. Jesus came to Earth with a ministry of freedom (Luke 4:16-21). If Jesus spent His time freeing people from oppression, then Adonai’s will is for us to be free from oppression. Jesus doesn’t CHANGE (Hebrews 13:8). He is CONSISTENT. Slavery is a TERRIBLE thing. Adonai has NEVER approved of it. But like with divorce, He allowed it in limited circumstances because of the hardness of OUR hearts and OUR refusal to let it go (Matthew 19:8). As soon as we were able to see beyond it, we put it down and Adonai approved. “You were bought with a price. Do not become slaves of men” (1 Corinthians 7:23). Jesus spoke about slavery in a spiritual sense. He did not want us to become slaves to broken ideas. He did not want us to sell ourselves outside the Kingdom. He didn’t want us to be chained to darkness or ignorance. He came to give us the gift of freedom in Himself. “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Absolutely not! Do you not know that if you present yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or obedience resulting in righteousness? But thanks be to God that though you were slaves to sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching you were entrusted to, and having been freed from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness. (I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.) For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free with regard to righteousness. So what benefit did you then reap from those things that you are now ashamed of? For the end of those things is death. But now, freed from sin and enslaved to God, you have your benefit leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life. For the payoff of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:15–23). We are FREE.
Have you told yourself you’re free today? Every cough. Every sneeze. Every ache. Every pain. Every twinge, twitch, and twerk. You are FREE. You are FREE from that. Free by the blood of The Lamb. We are NEW CREATIONS. We are the REDEEMED, not the ‘waiting for things to be better in heaven’. We have Ruach HaKodesh inside of us. That’s the Spirit the Father used to raise Jesus from the dead. That Spirit can handle your cold. Your depression. Your aches. Your pains. Your condition. Your cancer. Your disease. Your deterioration. We’re not subject to those rules. It’s not natural for US. Our natural, normal, baseline state is one of HEALTH. Wholeness. Completeness. It’s how we are SUPPOSED to be. Remember when Adam got sick? When Eve got laid up and Adam made her soup and put a wet cloth on her brow? No. You don’t. Because it didn’t happen. They didn’t GET sick. They didn’t even know what sickness WAS. They had no missing limbs. They had no broken bones. They had no spots or lesions. They had no coughs or colds. There was no flu season. They didn’t deteriorate. They lived in total and absolute health. THAT is normal. THAT is how we were designed and created to be. In JESUS, we can get back to that. In JESUS, we can live in HEALTH. Not human health. Divine health. We’re one third Holy Ghost. We have one third of the divine DNA inside us. We’re MORE THAN human. We’re JESUS in our spirit and we have an intravenous drip of pure life flowing into us through Ruach HaKodesh every moment of every day of our lives. We do NOT have to settle! We can BE more. We can BE healthy. We can BE whatever JESUS says we can be. Period. Full stop. TRUTH.
Without Jesus, we’re stuck being like everyone else. But WITH Him, resting in Him, relying on Him to inform all of our lives, we are MORE than what we were when we were born. We have been born AGAIN (John 3:3; Matthew 18:3). We are DIFFERENT. Tell your body that. Remind it. You cannot remember your natural birth. Your flesh cannot remember your spiritual birth. We must REMIND it. Daily. Every single one. The truth is in the Word and we can SAY IT. We can put into our mouths the Word of Adonai Elohim so that our bodies hear that we agree with it. That we’re listening to it. That we are connecting ourselves to and with Jesus. We’re taking up His yoke and going where the Father drives us (Matthew 11:28-30). We can’t pull it without Jesus. We can’t see where we’re going. But together WITH Him, we can get there (Matthew 19:26). Speak it out. Speak it clear. And don’t let your flesh call the shots. In Jesus, YOU are in charge of where you’re going and who you’re going to listen to. Listen to Jesus. Listen to Ruach HaKodesh. Listen to the Father. And TELL your body what is what. Let yourself HEAR it. Your body doesn’t have a brain, but it has ears. Let it HEAR.
Daily Affirmation Jesus IS Messiah: Zechariah 13:7
““Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is my associate,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “Strike the shepherd that the flock may be scattered; I will turn my hand against the insignificant ones.” Messiah would die a violent death for mankind. In order to save humanity from the rebellious choice that brought sin and death into the world, it was Elohim’s will that Messiah die violently paying the price for that sin. “But Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword back into its sheath! Am I not to drink the cup that the Father has given me?”” (John 18:11). “When they had crucified him, they divided his clothes by throwing dice” (Matthew 27:35). Jesus voluntarily laid down His life, dying by crucifixion – one of the cruelest deaths ever devised by humanity. Jesus was violently killed to provide payment for sin. Jesus IS the Messiah!
