Fear No Fear

“The Lord is near to the broken-hearted, and saves the contrite of spirit,” (Psalm 34:18, MEV). So very many things break our hearts. So many things seem to crush our spirits. Whenever negative things happen, the devil is quick to ramp up the sad and bad. To try and get you to see it in the worst way possible. To make it very much a drowning experience. If we let ourselves drown in the feelings, we will take our eyes off of the Lord. If we pay more attention to the environment we are in, we will take our eyes off the Lord. When we do, it’s easy to feel that we are alone. But we are NOT alone. The Lord is near to us. The Lord is there AS our lifeline. As our salvation. As what keeps us above the waves – if we’ll take His hand. If we let Him and don’t fight Him, we WILL be saved. He is RIGHT THERE and not far away. When Peter walked on the water and cried out, Jesus reached out and grabbed him. Jesus didn’t need to sprint to get to him or walk to get to him. Jesus was RIGHT THERE. That’s where God is. WITH US. Don’t let the environment you are in break your heart or drown you with lack. Take the hand Jesus is offering and let Him save you. Let Him lift you above your environment. You might be in the same place, but it will no longer be slicing into you or dragging you down. You’ll be in the boat, not in the water at the mercy of the storm. Jesus provides salvation, if we’ll take it. He loves us too much to see us hopeless, so He becomes our hope – if we’ll receive it.
