Fear No Fear

“With the blast of Your nostrils the waters were gathered together. The flowing waters stood upright as a heap; and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea” (Exodus 13:8, MEV). According to Britannia, the Gulf of Aqaba is on the ‘northeastern arm of the Red Sea, penetrating between Saudi Arabia and the Sinai Peninsula. It varies in width from 12 to 17 miles (19 to 27 km) and is 110 miles (177 km) long.’ It’s a difficult piece of water to traverse in a boat, much less on foot. Yet this is where the Israelites crossed in order to enter Saudi Arabia and reach Mt. Sinai. It was impossible. Add to that the armies of Egypt coming down behind them (divers have found Egyptian chariots on the sea bed of the gulf), and you have a terrible situation. A crisis situation. They were snack dab in the middle of NEGATIVITY. But what did God do? He blew His nose. He whuffed and it all went away . The water. The blockage. The thing stopping them from getting to where He had called them. And in the end, the Egyptian army as well. These things that are super deadly to our eyes, are not that big of a deal from His. It isn’t that He doesn’t understand how it is from our point of view (Hebrews 4:15). It’s that when we rely on Him as our Source, the solution isn’t a big deal. If we rely on US, it’s a problem. When we rely on HIM, it isn’t. It’s just a situation. And His solution is the best one. His solution is the one that is easy, simple, and ready to go. All we need to do is to rely on Him. To choose to look to Him, and then obey what He tells us. Even when it seems crazy (like stepping into the Gulf of Aqaba). He loves us and has a way out for us. Out from under the thumb of PROBLEM and into the blessing of SITUATION. Out from under stress, anxiety, depression, and worry. Into His love, where PEACE lives.
