Fear No Fear

“We obligate ourselves to bring the firstfruits of our ground and the firstfruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of the Lord;” (Nehemiah 10:35. ESV). God is so good to us. He doesn’t force us, even when doing the thing will result in a benefit for us (Proverbs 3:9-10). We are STILL given a choice. God doesn’t just TELL us things. He SHOWS them to be true. He SHOWS His love by His patience and goodness to us. He shows us by not forcing us, that He loves our ability to choose. And that He loves when we choose to trust in Him (Hebrews 11:6). He loves us and lets US choose – even though He wants NO ONE to choose the wrong thing (2 Peter 3:9). There is SO MUCH that He has for us – right now here AND in Heaven – but all He does is OFFER it. He HOLDS IT OUT. It is up to US whether or not we accept it. Whether we will align our behaviour with His moral character. Whether we will seek His face. Whether we will seek His righteousness. Whether we will love Him enough to start to emulate Him. There is such BLESSING available to us if we would just CHOOSE to receive it. Step one is realising He’s offering it and step two is leaning into Him and learning about how much Jesus loves us. When we KNOW He loves us, we KNOW He’s willing to give us good things (from His point of view). Godly things and good things. He loves us. And He lets us choose. Choose wisely.
