Fear No Fear

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:23, MEV). When someone loves you, they don’t try to hurt you. In fact, they do the opposite and they try and be beneficial to you. Humanity is not perfect in this. But God IS. One of the greatest proofs and gifts of Jesus’ love for us is the CONFIDENCE He gives us. We don’t have to walk a tightrope and see whether or not we’ll fall off. We don’t have to rack up good deeds in life and hope that they will balance out our ungodly actions. We don’t have to be unsure, wondering if there is something more than the material life we see around us. We can be SURE, CONFIDENT, and ASSURED. We can have PEACE because we KNOW Jesus’ love for us. He doesn’t hold it back. It doesn’t rely on our performance. And it inspires in us our love for Him, leading to the godly lifestyles, choices, and behaviours that are a natural result of loving Him. His love really is the fuel that lights up our lives. His love is the CONFIDENCE we have of abundant life now and after now. That confidence provides us JOY and PEACE. We are never in doubt, because how could we be when we know the love He has for us. The love that made the Way. The love that enabled us to choose Him. The love that is our salvation.
