Take the Plunge: Genesis 1:24

God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind;” and it was so.
Genesis 1:24

As with the lights for the expanse, the earth with vegetation, and the waters with creatures, God now speaks to the Earth. It was already pregnant with possibility. It was already imbued with the ability to produce. The seed in this case was God’s Words. God spoke and the Earth produced as it was programmed to by Him. In a sense, then, all these things brought forth on individual days were created in the very beginning when the stuff (physical elements) from which they were made was created from His thoughts (Genesis 1:1), but on the individual days were given form and then put into their places.

Once again, living creatures were brought forth ‘after their kind’. Each species was unique and its own. No species has EVER become another species. There has been selective breeding, interbreeding, and crossbreeding to produce ‘new’ species, but never spontaneous creation of a new species from an old. Whenever God spoke forth the production of living things, He set this boundary of them operating within their species. On their own (without the interference of humanity) they will NEVER be able to violate it.

Livestock are domesticated beasts utilized by humanity for their needs.

Creeping things are small animals (and insects) that walk upon the Earth.

Animals of the earth are animals of the wilderness.

God had placed in them the innate ability and instinct to procreate, so He did not need to specifically call them to multiplication.

All of them had ‘living’ souls. The soul is the heart, mind, and emotions – something vegetation does not have. By recognizing what God said, we should have empathy with the animals of this world and seek not to be cruel in our interactions with them.
