2026 Daily Affirmation #27

Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17, MEV). I really enjoy it when there is a meal that I can eat that I have NOT prepared. I’m the major preparer of food in our household, and I like doing it. I also feel that celebrations are not true celebrations unless I have prepared food for it – often much more than the occasion strictly demands. But every once in a while, I don’t want to make food. I want it made for me. Household made for me or food outside the house made for me. I don’t want to be rushed. I want to take my time. But the most important is that I didn’t have to expend effort making it. This is what Jesus offers us. If we realize how much He loves us and accept the idea that He did what He did because of that love, it is so easy to see that He wants us to accept what He offers. With thanksgiving and praise to God, we can take what is offered and simply engage it. Embody it. Live it. That often comes with a corresponding action of trust – but only Holy Spirit can tell you what you need to do. Scripture shows us that those actions can be declarations or physical actions or actions of witness or just about anything. They vary from person to person. But what does NOT vary is the acceptance and willingness to engage what Jesus ALREADY accomplished for you. To live out what He prepared. To eat the food that YOU didn’t make. What great love He has for us! What willingness to share! He’s a GOOD God!
