Fear No Fear

“To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food;” and it was so.“
Genesis 1:30

The animals of the Earth, the living creatures, were not given the same food as humanity. This again specifies our differences. Humanity are living SPIRITS, not living CREATURES. We are NOT part of the animal kingdom, regardless of the truth that we are from the same physical source (the earth/dirt) and share the same elements of life.

The living creatures were given the green herb for food, NOT fruit and NOT the seed-bearing herbs. They didn’t eat the seeds. They ate what we were not given to eat. Humanity was NOT given the green herbs. Neither one of us was competing with the other for our food.

Nothing that was created ate flesh or blood. Death wasn’t part of Creation. Meat was not on the original menu – but as we know, God gave permission for that later AFTER the Fall.

Looking at the teeth and the digestive systems of carnivores, omnivores, and human beings; it is hard to imagine that we were never designed to eat meat. But we weren’t originally. Originally everything was perfect, worked perfectly, and we each had a complete diet made up of food that wasn’t each others. But then the Fall came. With Sin came sin’s child: death. With Sin and death in place, things began to change. All Creation had fallen and it was deteriorating. Entropy was suddenly active where it had never been active before. Evolution began to show its weary head: species changing and altering in order to survive their deteriorating circumstances. Humanity has convinced itself that evolution is a forward-moving mechanism leading to the betterment of living creatures. The truth is that it is a life raft. A desperate attempt to keep from becoming extinct because the environment they are in is no longer perfect and neither are they. With evolution, our teeth and our digestive systems began to change. Violence filled the Earth. Meat came on the menu (first sinfully, and after the flood lawfully and permissibly). It is hard to ‘see’ what life was meant to be without the Word to tell us, because we filter everything through the lens of what we can observe. It’s hard to imagine a lion or a vulture or a shark eating plant life to survive, but they did and THRIVED.

You will notice that the lower forms are in service to the higher forms for the benefit of the higher forms of life. Vegetation serves living creatures and humanity as food. Living creatures serve humanity as beasts of burden or to achieve tasks. But humanity is a the top. Everything serves humanity. Do NOT let this principle cloud your judgment when it comes to humanity. We are not separate groups where one is superior to the other (black vs white, European vs Aboriginal, etc). Humanity is a group of EQUALS. One human is NOT superior to another. Which is why God is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11-16; Acts 10:34). In God’s eyes we are equal. In fact, God called us the same thing and did not differentiate between us (Genesis 5:1-2).

God set the diet in place for everything on the Earth. He designed it, set it, spoke it, and that is how it was. No deviations. No exceptions. Everything worked EXACTLY as He had spoken it and everything worked COMPLETELY within the boundaries God set for it all to work. Period. NOTHING changed until the Fall.
