“For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse” (Romans 1:20, MEV). Going outside for a 30-min walk in nature can lower your blood pressure. Being in nature has a therapeutic effect with marked positive psychological benefits. Walking through a forest improves the functioning of our immune system. Being outdoors also reduces our levels of cortisol and positively impacts our nervous system – making it easier to deal with stress and anxiety. All this from just being outdoors, around trees, surrounded by nature. We are designed to operate in and around nature. It is a tool to keep our eyes on the Lord. To see the glory of His majesty at play in what He created. It is beneficial to us because it gets more and more difficult to avoid knowledge of Him when we’re surrounded by His handiwork. Subconsciously, deep inside, we ALL have a knowledge that God exists and this is bolstered by the majesty of His creation around us. It is like a giant signpost where God is announcing His love for us. He made this all for us. For us to work in, live in, and enjoy. He loved you enough to make nature a benefit for you. He loved you enough to make it beautiful to look at. He loved you enough to show you just what He thinks of you. He loves you. Just go outside and see how much He does.
