2026 Daily Affirmation #45

Confess your faults to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much.” (James 5:16, MEV). The prayer of trust, belief, confidence, and fidelity is what is effective. Moral conviction that relies on Jesus consistently. Jesus told us that we could do NOTHING in ourselves (John 15:5). He didn’t do that to run us down. To belittle us. He told us that so that we would start believing that our trust in Him connects us to Him. Plugs us in. Like a branch drawing sustenance from the vine it grows out of. Our assurance is that Jesus can do what He says He can do. Our assurance is that His moral character does not allow Him to jerk us around. He is TRUTH and He speaks TRUTH to us. He loves us. He isn’t lying to us. He isn’t putting one over on us. He isn’t snickering behind His hand when we’re not looking. When we pray according to His Word, confident that He is going to back it up, and draw on Him to do what He says He will do – there is no stopping that kind of prayer. He loves us enough to both lead us in what to pray AND to fulfill the prayers that He leads us in. He loves us enough to tell us the truth and demonstrate that truth in love on a DAILY basis. He loves us that much!
