“Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for You are my praise” (Jeremiah 17:14, MEV). Because God loves us, He doesn’t send sickness or pain to teach us. Because God loves us, He doesn’t will for us to suffer. Because God loves us, He doesn’t will for us to prematurely die because of sickness or disease. Because God loves us, death was not a natural part of the life cycle. Because God loves us, He does not will for us to suffer. God loves us. His moral character is LOVE (1 Corinthians 13). God SAVES us. God wants us to accept HEALING. Yes, because Sin entered creation negative things began to occur as a consequence of that. Fear entered. Death entered. Suffering became something we could experience. Diseases evolved, twisting themselves out of healthy things. Sickness became something we could experience. Evolution within a species became something neccessary for a given species to survive in the deteriorating world. Deterioration became something everything experiences. These things were NOT the will of God. These things were CONSEQUENCES of Sin. Period. God SAVES us from that. Yes, these bodies will perish. But they don’t have to deteriorate as they age. They don’t have to accept sickness. They don’t have to let disease enter. They don’t have to SUFFER – they can ENDURE. They can be WHOLE. They can be HEALTHY. Jesus saved us (Ephesians 2:4-10). He gave us His Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 1:22). The Father gives us life through Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11), who dwells in us (1 Corinthians 3:16). It is His will for us to be saved from Sin and the effects of the consequences of Sin that un-renewed creation experiences (2 Peter 3:9) – because we are RENEWED (2 Corinthians 5:17). God LOVES us. We are as HEALED as we are SAVED!
