Fear No Fear

“There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12, MEV). When there is a disaster, you seek to get out. People drive out of cities. They create makeshift boats and row away. They run to the hills. They hide in the shadows. They swim. They scream, panic, and desperately do anything and everything they can to get out. Some even futilely do things like jumping out of windows to avoid the flames inside. Disasters are terrible and the lengths that we will go to save ourselves from them (or from a particular piece of them) knows no end. But there are times that we CANNOT do it. On our own, in our own strength, with the resources available to us, we cannot save ourselves. We still try. Desperately. But we CANNOT do it. We need external people, external forces, and external resources to come to our aid. We need someone to save us. In everyday life it can be a friend, neighbour, spouse, sibling, parent, stranger, first responder, medical professional, government, or agency. But in LIFE (as in existence), we need JESUS. He is the ONLY one who has the resources, the power, and the ability to do it. And it extends from SPIRITUAL life to PHYSICAL life. If Jesus is your saviour, He can save you from ANYTHING. He doesn’t have to. We don’t innately deserve it. He does it out of LOVE. He LOVES us and so He made the Way so that we CAN be saved. From anything. Anywhere. Always. Jesus SAVES because Jesus LOVES. And we can rely on that because He is FAITHFUL and TRUE.
