“The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding, but they would not come” (Matthew 22:2-3, MEV). We’re called to more than to just show up. Yes, we’re called by the Father (John 6:44). But we’re called to more than simply initial salvation. Salvation is the journey we take from the point we accept what Jesus did for us to the point where we are before the Throne face to face. It’s the WHOLE experience. We aren’t called to have participation ribbons pinned to our jerseys. We’re called to a lifestyle of LISTENING followed by OBEYING (John 14:15). We called to CONSTANTLY remember and speak to the Lord. To remember He IS Lord and to speak to Him about everything, so that He has a hand in EVERYTHING. He doesn’t love our church attendance. He doesn’t love our list of completed chores. He doesn’t love our work punch card. He loves US. ALL of us. Every facet, every moment, every thought. He LOVES us and He seeks to be a part of everything we do. He doesn’t do it because He is an egotist. He does it so that He can bring HIS BEST into our lives. Into every area of our lives. If we love Him, we’ll eagerly participate in it. Partners in a life of love. Ours to Him because He loves us. A life lived with a Saviour and Lord.
