Fear No Fear

“that He would give you, according to the riches of His glory, power to be strengthened by His Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:16-19, MEV). What do you do when you love someone? Well, if Hallmark and the Valentine’s season are anything to go by you give gifts. While we all know these seasons are driven by consumerism, passion (not love), and a healthy dose of gift-giving guilt traded for favours, it is still a truism that we give gifts to those we love. We see it throughout the year. And we see it with those we love, but not in THAT way. We like giving to those who we like. God likes us. God loves us. God gave us a gift. A gift so great, words fail us. Saved from more than we will know, in ways we can’t describe, by One so loving and Holy we need revelation to understand Him. THAT is a gift! We are the ONLY beings He gave it to. No one else warranted it. We didn’t earn it and don’t deserve it, but in HIS mind and HIS thinking, He LOVES us and that makes us worth it to Him. His GIFT is the only proof we will ever need that He truly and completely loves us.
