“Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. And nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20. MEV). It’s easy to forget that God can be miraculous. He does so much using the system He created and the people He placed within it. So many things can seem like so much coincidence. Yet God isn’t bound by the natural laws He put in place – and more than that, He’s the only one who TRULY understands them (Quantum entanglement, anyone?). God has chosen to respect the free will He gave us. But God also can BE God. He can do so much more than we are willing to accept. He has that kind of power. He is that unique. He is that far above everything we understand as a species. And one of the most miraculous things about God is NOT that He has given us the authority to literally move literal mountains if it would bring Him glory. NOT that He can change people, systems, and governments from one extreme to another in a single day. NOT that He informs us of things He is going to do so that when they happen we have proof that He is who He says He is. No, one of the most miraculous things is that He loves us and shows us that love on a DAILY basis. That God, almighty and majestic and holy God, would love us. Not because of what we do. Not because of our ability to worship Him. Not because of anything about us that is particularly significant if you look at creation as a whole from our point of view. He loves us because He is love and He loves us. Simple. Basic. What a miracle. What a blessing. What a wonder. He loves you. As you are. Always has. Always will. Miraculous, right? He’s SUCH a good God!
