2026 Daily Affirmation #57

Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer You? I will lay my hand over my mouth” (Job 40:4, MEV). Job wasn’t vile in and of himself (Job 1:1). He was only ‘vile’ in his eyes in comparison to the righteousness and glory of God. It’s easy to feel that way because God IS righteous. He IS glorious. He IS far above all things. He is the CREATOR. He IS. What we do, though, is instead of embracing the opportunity Jesus made for us to enter into Himself and change our thinking and change our behaviour and lean into becoming more and more like God’s character; we tell ourselves we don’t deserve it. And we don’t. We don’t get ANYTHING from God because we deserve it. We get it by grace and mercy. Guess what? Adam and Eve ALSO never got ANYTHING from God because we deserve it. How could any of us? All of creation was created BEFORE we were. We were the final step. His crowning achievement. So nothing of the goodness of creation was there because of anything we did, said, or thought. Nothing has changed. God LOVES us. He told us so. He just DOES. Don’t argue with Him. Don’t try to convince Him you’re not worthy. He knows that and it doesn’t change a THING about Him loving you (Psalm 103:13-14). Accept it. Thank Him for it. Let it transform your life. He loves you. He really does.
