Fear No Fear

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled. For all these things must happen, but the end is not yet” (Matthew 24:6, MEV). There are dozens upon dozens of armed conflicts going on every year. The number of MAJOR conflicts is growing. Any of them could spill over into adjoining regions and become even larger. Jesus told us this would happen. It’s basic science, too. An object in motion stays in motion. The Fall brought Sin, everything got corrupted, and it is degenerating more and more and more. That’s why animals need to adapt to remain alive in any given area. The conditions everywhere are worsening. But Jesus ALSO told us not to LET ourselves be troubled. Not to pick up FEAR. To continue to pray for our fellow human beings. This isn’t chin-up, stiff upper lip stuff. This is the foundation of trust. Either we TRUST that God knows what is happening and WILL end things as He said He would – with the obedient in Jesus enjoying eternal relationship with Him; or we DON’T trust Him. He showed us the end. He wins. Do you believe that? Or don’t you? The specifics don’t matter. Either He is our provision or He isn’t. Either He is our Saviour or He isn’t. If He is, we should trust what He says and believe He can do it. Period. Either we believe He loves us, or we don’t. There are a MILLION reasons why we are unlovable, but God didn’t look at a single one. He loved us BEFORE we existed. Anything that happens now doesn’t effect that love. Love isn’t based on performance. It’s a choice. God made His. He loves us. What choice are you making? Are you loving Him back and trusting His Word is true? Or are you choosing to be troubled? Yes, the world is a mess. Yes, it is chaotic. Yes, depending on where you live you may be in very real danger. But God is a VERY REAL GOD. He is THE God. He loves us. He will bring us home. Trust Him. No matter WHAT happens, no matter WHAT you hear. Trust Him. He loves you.
