Fear No Fear

“So Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.”” (Exodus 3:3, MEV). God doesn’t spring Himself on us. We are ALWAYS warned. He gives us a command, and informs us of consequences. He calls to us before He shows up. He tells us of future events so that we can get our hearts ready. It is never about jumping around a corner and yelling ‘aha!’ We aren’t told timeline, so in that sense things can be a surprise. But if we really think about it, we were warned. The wise men came from Babylon (possibly the descendants of the wise men of Nebuchadnezzar’s court that Daniel trained) because they had been waiting for the sign of Messiah’s birth. They’d been told by Daniel’s writings when it would happen and BOOM suddenly there it was. God ALWAYS tells us when He is going to do something so that we will be prepared. It is into prepared hearts that the benefits go. The peace when everything else is chaos. The knowledge that He will take care of us. The belief in Him meeting our needs. It is all possible because He warns us. God loves us. He isn’t out to get us. He wants us ready. He wants us prepared. He wants us to have put His Word into our hearts so that we can reap a harvest of peace and trust in Him from it. He gives us what we need so that we can be above the storm, not tossed about by the storm. He loves us enough to see that we have what we need to be prepared.
