“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21, MEV). We are more accustomed to hearing the voice that’s telling us we’re messing up. That we’re doing what we shouldn’t do. That we’re indulging in thoughts we shouldn’t indulge in. That’s the voice that condemns. That’s the voice that’s trying to stir up guilt. And it is NOT and NEVER HAS BEEN the voice of the Lord. The Lord isn’t trying to get you down. The Lord ALWAYS tries to build you up. His voice is there – the other one is shouting, but He isn’t – and it never stops speaking to us. Never stops telling us the good story of Jesus. How He saves us. How He freed us. How He is pointing the RIGHT way and the GOOD way. We aren’t told how bad we’re doing. We’re told where to walk to do good. We’re told where the will of the Father is and how He has equipped us to walk in it. The other voice tears us down – or tries to. God’s voice encourages us, builds us up, and shows us where to go to please Him. Which blesses us. He loves us too much to stop talking to us. He NEVER does. Don’t close your ears to what He’s saying. Don’t reject His voice. Let yourself walk in His ways. Let yourself stay close to Him. It’s where all the best things in life are.
