2026 Daily Affirmation #67

Consider the ravens: They neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouses nor barns. Yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds? Who of you by worrying can add one cubit to his height? If you then cannot do what is least, why are you anxious about the other things?” (Luke 12:24-26, MEV). When Jesus spoke about God providing for us He used ravens. They’re birds. We can learn at least two things from this. The first thing I noticed is that He picked RAVENS. In the Word ravens were used by God to feed Elijah (1 Kings 17:2-6). In the middle of a drought, which created a famine, God used birds to bring food to His prophet. They don’t have storehouses, but they had access to food. They don’t toil and worry, but God used them to get something to His prophet. God has ways to get stuff to us that we don’t even imagine. The second thing I noticed is that they were birds. Birds don’t have a culture like we do. They don’t have jobs. How they get provided for is that they interact with the system God set up to function. God impregnated creation to provide food for creation, and it does just that (Genesis 1:11-12; 30). God provided the system by which they would always have what they needed to survive. Sin changed that, twisting creation so that there were times of lack but we STILL don’t see the ravens holding townhall meetings and starting the Black Feather Society to provide for each other. They interact with God’s system and do what they need to with that system to survive. God PROVIDES. He provides systems. He impregnates with purpose. He anoints, calls, and equips. He does it BEFORE you need it. He does it BEFORE you ask for it. And if that system fails in some way, He gets your needs met in ANY way He wants because He loves you. You have worth and value. You are SPECIAL to Him. He does it for the birds and the bees, but HOW MUCH MORE does He love us? How much more special are we? He LOVES us. If we will believe in what He says and trust in His character, we are NEVER going to lack. Our needs will ALWAYS be met. By employment, by UPS, or by birds dropping food onto your porch. HE CAN DO IT! He’s done it before. He’ll do it again. He LOVES you! Trust Him! You will NEVER be disappointed!
