“Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2, MEV). What made it worth it for Jesus to do this? He didn’t NEED to do it for Himself. Jesus is God. God didn’t need salvation. He wasn’t affected by Sin. He was holy and complete. So why leave behind the glory He had and become human? To suffer for the people who were rejecting Him and His role? What made it worth it? We did. You and me. We made it worth it. He loved YOU enough to do that. To MAKE the Way that was needed. To step in and be the thing you could never be. That I could never be. To do what a human needed to do, but was unable to do because of their sinful nature passed down from sinful parents (Adam and Eve). We needed a human without a sinful nature, presented with the same temptations and the same ability to freely choose to obey or disobey BUT who chose to obey and submit to the will of the Father in ALL things. Jesus did it. It was hard. It HURT. He suffered terribly. The sinless human experienced ALL the negative sinful conditions without deserving it. He BECAME Sin. He was naked and exposed and shamed. He did that for us. He did that for YOU. YOU were worth it. You’re a treasure that He gave up His fortune to buy (Matthew 13:44-46). Before you knew Him. Before you chose Him. You were worth it. He loved you SO MUCH He did it all for YOU. You are THAT special to Him. You always have been and you always will be. No matter what.
