Fear No Fear

“Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46, MEV). Jesus loves us, so Jesus tells us to do things, think things, and say things that are in accordance to the will of the Father. It is for OUR benefit. It is so that WE will receive everything the Father wants us to have. And it is a mark so that WE can prove to OURSELVES that we love Him. You obey a King. It is one of the marks of kingship. When a king gives a command, everyone in the kingdom must obey it. Same for a queen. That’s how it works. So if Jesus is our Lord and Saviour, we obey what He says. Doubt is one of the devil’s best weapons because it is so easy to doubt something. Even a sure thing. Even a proven thing. But if we obey Jesus, then we know He IS our Lord. And if He IS our Lord – as proven by our obedience to Him – then no one can take that assurance away from us. No matter WHAT happens and no matter WHAT is said or shown to us, we KNOW that we KNOW that we KNOW that Jesus IS our Lord and IS our Saviour and that He is number one in our lives. Doubt cannot assail that. Doubt FLEES from that (James 4:7). One of the best marks of Jesus’ love for us is this one simple way that we can have such a firm foundation to all our assurances in Him.
