“For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his goings” (Proverbs 5:21, MEV). Jesus doesn’t really leave us alone. He doesn’t do that because He’s trying to annoy us. He doesn’t do that because He’s a busybody. He doesn’t do that because He can’t leave well enough alone. He doesn’t really leave us alone because He wants us to know the truth. The truth about Himself. The truth about life. And the truth about what we’re putting our attention on. Jesus doesn’t want us deceived. He doesn’t want us chained. He doesn’t want us captive to broken ideas and broken habits. Jesus wants us FREE with LASTING freedom (John 8:36). We can’t have an abundant life without freedom. Being chained to negative emotions isn’t abundance. Having lack in ANY area of our lives (mental, relational, emotional, positional, or financial) isn’t abundance. Since Jesus beings freedom and Jesus is all about abundant life, Jesus constantly talks to us about it. Jesus sends messengers of the gospel across our paths so that we hear His message over and over. Not to desensitize us to it, but to encourage us to accept it. To encourage us to follow where He’s leading us. To encourage us to let Him remove the hooks, remove the chains, and to gain His freedom. None of us will be able to say we didn’t know, that we didn’t hear, or that it wasn’t our fault. Jesus constantly talks to us and consistently sends people into our lives so that we KNOW the truth and either accept it or reject it. He doesn’t give us just one chance, but MANY chances. It’s because He LOVES us and wants us to KNOW we can be set free, so that we will CHOOSE to be set free because we choose to accept Him. He loves us all and wants to see NO ONE in bondage. Ever.
