“I will raise up a prophet from among their brothers, like you, and will put My words in his mouth, and he will speak to them all that I command him. It will be that whoever will not listen to My words which he will speak in My name, I will require it of him” (Deuteronomy 18:18-19, MEV). Around 1,500 years before Jesus came and walked this Earth as a man these words were spoken to His people. They were told about His perfect walk. His perfect obedience. And that everything He spoke to us was the verbatim Word of God. No commentary. No edits. No personal ideas. Direct communication. It was so important that He gave them over a thousand years to meditate on it and prepare for it. Think about that. Think about the level of preparation we were given. The chance to REALLY get it in our hearts. Abraham had twenty-five years to prepare his heart for his son (which he did so well he KNEW that Isaac could not possibly remain dead – Hebrews 11:19). They were given more than a thousand years. That’s how God prepares us for Himself. He loves us SO MUCH He speaks to us WELL before we need it. He speaks and then continues speaking about it. Keeps reminding us of the truth. Again and again and again and again. He does NOT want us to miss His things. There will be not a single individual in Hell who hadn’t had chance after chance after chance to choose to believe Him. He gave us the ability to choose. He doesn’t force us. But He DOES speak to us. Again and again. He loves us and wants good things for us – starting with His Lordship which gives us the BEST thing: a relationship with Him. He’ll never stop speaking to us. Never stop giving us the opportunity to walk deeper and deeper with Him. He loves us and wants a real relationship with us.
