Ruach HaKodesh “Healing”

to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,

1 Corinthians 12:9

What is the difference between healing as can be commanded by every believer (Matthew 10:8; Acts 3:6-8), and a spirit of healing as directed by Jesus and given by Ruach HaKodesh? All believers can have the types of miracles that Jesus had (John 14:12) because He had Ruach HaKodesh and we have Ruach HaKodesh and Adonai doesn’t differentiate between one and another (Romans 2:11). If you’re willing to live like Jesus (always putting Adonai first), submit like Jesus (doing what the Father says), and listen like Jesus (saying what He was told to say) – which we can through Ruach HaKodesh inside us (2 Corinthians 5:21), then we can have the same things. We can’t have miracles like Jesus when we’re living for the world or the devil. But Jesus said if we believe in Him and live like it (which is the evidence of true belief), then we can do what He did. But the gifts of healing are something more.

You and I *CAN* heal the sick. But we might not have a MINISTRY marked by healing. That’s the difference. Someone who operates in the gifts of healing have supernatural healing and miracles as part of their everyday ministry. They ARE the ministry. A teacher will have teaching as their ministry, but also may heal. A healer may teach or may evangelize, but primarily they will heal. Paul saw a man who looked like he was ready to receive healing, so Paul commanded healing to him (Acts 14:9-10). Paul taught everywhere he went (Acts 18:11). Jesus taught and proclaimed the gospel to all the towns around Him (Matthew 9:35-38). If you look at the verses, you’ll see the difference. Paul healed. Paul taught everywhere. Jesus taught, proclaimed, and healed ALL their diseases. In fact, as long as you didn’t hinder Jesus with your unbelief (Mark 6:5), Jesus healed EVERYWHERE He went. They brought people to Him in droves (Matthew 8:17-18). Jesus could NOT be separated from healing. It was a major part of His ministry. It was NOT a major part of Paul’s, yet we see healing. Paul’s was a teaching ministry (as much of the New Covenant writings demonstrate). This is the big difference between healing as a new believer right and the gifts of healing.

It says in the verse gifts in PLURAL. Remember, the gifts can work different ways in different people. I know of a man who healed and as part of that healing he would spit on people. Why? Because Jesus did (John 9:6). Did he have to spit? Probably not, but he didn’t want to take a chance. I know another man who has a tremendous anointing for healing. I had a heart condition healed while listening to one of his services. The anointing was there and I was willing to engage it. I’ve listened to other services by others and not felt even a twinge of healing anointing THROUGH THE RECORDING, but have ZERO doubt it was flowing in that room. Was one person greater than the other? No. It was the gift of healing administered differently. Don’t mock the gifts. Don’t mock the methodology. You don’t know what they have been told to do, or how to operate. Different gifts for different people.

The bible as a book was not written by men or women. It was recorded by humans, but WRITTEN by Ruach HaKodesh. Why do we see differences of style or wordage from book to book? Because He used different phrases and ways of speaking from one recorder to another. Not because He had to, but because they would understand it better. That’s why a word can be translated one way in one place and another way in another place. It fits differently based on context, but the meaning can be multi-layered. The Word is living and active, changing (almost) every time you read it giving more and more depth. More and more nuance. More and more understanding. Once we master the basics, Ruach HaKodesh starts teaching us the next level up. And then the next level. And then the next. Not NEW revelation, but increased understanding of the revelation that exists right there in the Word.

The gifts of healing operate differently from minister to minister (not a title or paid position, but someone ministering healing as their ministry) because of personalities, understanding, and how Ruach HaKodesh wants to operate to their audiences. It is ALL healing and it ALL comes from Ruach HaKodesh. It is a supernatural gifting different from the one all believers operate in. But healing is available to all people on this planet because Jesus released it through His stripes, bruises, and wounds (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:17-18; 1 Peter 2:24). Many ways of delivering, but ONE Source.

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Psalm 16:2

Oh my soul you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord. I have no good apart from you.”” There is a maturity to the believer who understands the selfless love of Yahweh (Ephesians 3:14-19). It is more than a reliance on Him for your stuff – whether a paycheque, food in your cupboards, clothes on your back, a mode of transportation, or a roof over your head. It is a positivity in your heart that NOTHING that is good came from anywhere else. From a cooling breeze, to an enjoyable book, to a friendly face, to a playful pet, to your relationships, to a colour or aroma that you find pleasant. EVERY SINGLE THING that is good comes from Adonai. Absolutely nothing. Ever. For ANY reason. NOTHING that is bad comes from Adonai. He is the Source of ONLY GOOD THINGS. He will absolutely USE negative things, but He is not their Source. Sometimes our own choices, the personality we insist on, and the mindset we wear mean that we refuse teaching any other way, so Adonai will give us what we’re insisting on. But if it is negative in ANY way (beyond your flesh getting pouty and whiney), it was not FROM Him only USED by Him. Adonai is all good all the time. Without fail. Always. What a GOOD God!

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
