Fear No Fear

So then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged

John 19:1

This is a hotly debated topic. I have no idea why. It’s so simple you have to have help to misunderstand it. Jesus was scourged so we didn’t have to be. He did it to release healing power through Ruach HaKodesh into the Universe. It’s there in the spiritual realm. All around us. If we believe in Him, and trust in Him, we can engage what He released for us and the healing power HE released will flow through US by RUACH HAKODESH. Period. Since all the work is done by Adonai, there is no beginning and end of it (Hebrews 13:8). By His bruises/stripes/wounds we were healed spirit/soul/body.

We KNOW it has a spiritual component because of Isaiah 53:5 “But he was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon him, and by his wounds we were healed.” The context of the verse is CLEARLY speaking of a spiritual healing: salvation. Of course the word ‘salvation’ encompasses spirit saving, healing, mental/emotional help, and prospering here on earth. But in the context, it is talking about salvation. The Adonai making a Way for us (John 3:16-18). By His bruises, the way was made for our salvation (John 14:6).

We KNOW it has a soulful component because of 1 Peter 2:24 “who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we may die to sins and live to righteousness, by whose wounds you were healed.” In context, this is the mental and emotional part of us. The part that decides to sin or to obey. The part that bears the guilt and the brunt of the curse that we suffer under when in sin – because sin is disobedience and a turning away from Adonai. You can’t be in the Blessing zone AND in the weeds at the same time. Only Adonai is everywhere at once. Jesus bore that curse, becoming a curse, so that we could become His righteousness and be as He is here on Earth (2 Corinthians 5:21). Exhibiting the Fruit of Ruach HaKodesh in our lives as we focus our minds and hearts on Him and His Word. By His stripes, we can become as He is and dwell in Him (John 15:5).

We KNOW it has a physical component because of Matthew 8:16-17 “Now when it was evening, they brought to him many who were demon-possessed, and he expelled the spirits with a word. And he healed all those who were sick, in order that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah would be fulfilled, who said, “He himself took away our sicknesses, and carried away our diseases.”” These people were PHYSICALLY healed of demonic possession. These people were PHYSICALLY healed of sicknesses – whichever kind they had. This was PHYSICAL healing. And it was BEFORE the cross. It was only in Jesus. BUT by His wounds, Jesus released healing into all the Earth so that whoever believes in Him and receives it WILL be healed (John 16:33).

Jesus was scourged and bled so that WE can have our health back. Body. Soul. Spirit. He redeemed us from the curse because Jesus REMOVES sickness. “And you will serve Yahweh your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will remove sickness from among you” (Exodus 25:26). What is the conduit by which our belief and our trust – once engaged – flow with healing? The comforting presence of Ruach HaKodesh. “And if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also make alive your mortal bodies through his Spirit who lives in you” (Romans 8:11). The Father does it through you and in you by His Ruach. That’s how it works. You may be parched, thirsty, and dehydrated, but the Father has placed His faucet inside you and told you that you have HIS permission to turn the handle to open it up. The Father has the water in place. Jesus is waiting to explode out of that faucet. Turn the handle. Let the healing power Jesus released flow into you, fill you up with divine health, and flow out of you in high pressure to everywhere you go. How can sickness come in? There’s too much flow going out. Release it all. The Father has MORE THAN ENOUGH!

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Psalm 36:8

“They are refreshed with the fullness of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights.” There is something special about cold water. ANY water is good (as long as it’s clean). But with truly cold water, water that ALMOST hurts on the way down your throat? Ah, THAT is something special. It is refreshing. It is invigorating. I thank Adonai EVERY time I have some. Glacier water, tap water, it doesn’t matter. Crisp and cold water is a BLESSING. But the great thing about water is that it is ALWAYS a blessing. I drink room temperature, hot, warm, and it doesn’t matter. It is a refreshing thing and Adonai REALLY knew what He was doing when He created it. If you think about that care that He took – just with water – and think about all the rest? It should give you a feeling of awe. That He would make so much wonder for us. To share with us the ideas in His mind. To refresh us spiritually the way His water refreshes us physically. To make something that works with everyone, anytime, and anywhere. To make sure we have a way to get what we need to restart our engines full of His energy, ready to go around the block again without exhaustion. What a GOOD God!
