May Yahweh give you increase, you and your children. May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 115:14-15
The true heart of Adonai toward us is increase. It all started with the BLESSING and since then His desire is to bless us more and more. The core message of the Gospel is increase: “And God is able to cause all grace to abound to you, so that in everything at all times, because you have enough of everything, you may overflow in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8). That increase is inside the BLESSING – which is different from just being blessed. It is accessed through COVENANT – Jesus’ covenant with His Father. Adonai brings ALL good things that are here on this Earth (James 1:17). He brings them to everyone (Matthew 5:45). He does it to show His CHARACTER. His GOODNESS. He does it to draw people to Him (Romans 2:4). If He blesses us BEFORE we are in covenant with Him, how much MORE will we get when we are in covenant with Him? In fact, we get more and more and more. And it ALL starts with our spiritual condition.
The flesh is selfish and greedy. It wants THINGS. Are things bad? Not really. They are THINGS. But it is a truth that we cannot properly handle things when we are listening to and guided by the flesh. By OUR thinking. Following broken thinking by broken flesh in a broken world surrounded by broken creation and living in broken systems broken beings thought up is about as stupid as you can get and still be breathing. Yet we do it ALL THE TIME. Anytime we do what WE want without having considered Adonai’s position on it is STUPID and BROKEN thinking. The biggest practical reason to check in with Him first is that HE is the ONLY ONE who can see things as they are SUPPOSED to be. Every other created being sees through the veil of the curse which lies upon all creation. We need Adonai’s point of view to truly see the unseen instead of the seen (2 Corinthians 4:18).
The Gospel is the power to REVERSE the curse. It is IN Jesus. It is THROUGH Jesus. It is BECAUSE of Jesus. And it is DIRECTED BY Jesus. It is WHY He came. It is WHY we cannot accomplish it outside of Him. HE is the One through whom it flows. The first thing that needs transforming is our thinking (Romans 12:2) so that we can perceive and begin to understand what it is all about (Ephesians 3:16-19). So that we can take from our renewed spirit instead of our thinking or our feelings. So that we can begin to walk His Way in His way. When we get our spiritual priorities right and we direct our spiritual sight His direction, we will begin to experience spiritual renewal, growth, and abundance. THEN we can increase in other areas. Why? We have our priorities straight. Increase the world’s way brings compromise, pains, and sorrows of one kind or another. NOTHING is without a hook. EVERYTHING is bittersweet. But with Adonai, that is NOT TRUE (Proverbs 10:22). THAT is the Gospel: Adonai gives MORE and Adonai gives WITHOUT SORROW.
“To me, the least of all the saints, was given this grace: to proclaim the good news of the fathomless riches of Christ to the Gentiles, and to enlighten everyone as to what is the administration of the mystery hidden from the ages by God, who created all things, in order that the many-sided wisdom of God might be made known now to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places through the church, according to the purpose of the ages which he carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through faith in him” (Ephesians 3:8-12). This is the message. Adonai PROSPERS us. Does that mean money and riches and whatnot? Doesn’t have to. Adonai wants our SPIRITS prosperous. Our SPIRITS in abundance in Him. Our SPIRITS being a fertile field producing harvest after harvest after harvest for His Glory. “Dear friend, I pray you may prosper concerning everything and be healthy, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2). “But seek first his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Get close to Adonai FIRST, and then it doesn’t matter what is added because YOU will seek HIM about it all the time. Possessions are nice and can be a real benefit. They can kill the FEELINGS of poverty. But if we chase THEM, we stay poor. If we seek HIM, we get truly rich – often with possessions as the evidence to the world that Adonai’s Way WORKS. It doesn’t matter if you are in a desolate place, a developing nation, or the centre of a metropolis. Spiritual abundance can appear ANYWHERE. And like when you fertilize, water, and care for the ground, growth will spring up all around that spiritual abundance. It’s how Adonai’s system works.
Adonai doesn’t want to just increase us spiritually and materially after that. Adonai wants to KEEP US blessed. That means we have to STAY IN HIM (John 15:5). Success has killed more people than lack of success. More people cannot handle things than those who can. We relax. We start protecting what’s ours. We even start thinking of the stuff as OURS. In reality, nothing is. EVERYTHING we have is from Adonai, so Adonai owns it all (Psalm 24:1). We RENT it, but HE owns it. That’s important because we are here to do our best with His stuff. We are to spread His garden. We are to care for His garden. We are to spread His message. We are to disciple His children – and make sure WE are being discipled. We are to be focused on Him. That focus allows us to act when He says, how He says, where He says, and give Him the glory for the doing. THAT kills the curse. Jesus broke shame, broke toil, broke apartness, broke infirmity, broke lack, and broke brokenness. Everything the curse brings, Jesus broke.
When we walk in Jesus, He heals the broke. Whatever is broken, wherever it is broken, and no matter how badly it’s broken. Jesus HEALS. Jesus brings ABUNDANCE. Jesus DESTROYED poverty. THAT is the Gospel Message. THAT is what Ruach HaKodesh speaks to us. That’s what He reminds us about. That’s what He coaches us about. That’s what He corrects us about. Whenever we are NOT living in abundance, we are shown the poverty holding us back AND how Jesus defeated it. Ruach HaKodesh is the barometer for our poverty. He shows us the Way that Jesus laid down for us to walk. He shows us how to engage Jesus’ overcoming victory over poverty. He shows us how to CORRECTLY walk in spiritual abundance which enables us to handle ANYTHING we receive from Adonai without claiming it in any selfish way – willing to bless anyone with anything we’re blessed with because we KNOW that there is ALWAYS more. Adonai is the God of MORE THAN ENOUGH – and thankfully Ruach HaKodesh NEVER lets us forget it (IF we listen to Him).
Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Psalm 119:105
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Ever stepped on Lego in the dark? Stubbed a toe on furniture you didn’t remember was there? Grabbed the wrong liquid and had a drink at 2am because you’re thirsty – and regretted it? Sight enables us to avoid mistakes. Light reveals the reality of shadows. Demons look scary and powerful and deadly when they are on a Hollywood screen or in an anime, but when we see them in the light of Adonai? They are shown to be the nothings they are compared to Him. Light reveals Jesus’ ascendance and superiority over EVERYTHING. And if HE is on OUR side, if HE is living INSIDE OF US? Who can stand against us? Who can stop us? Who can keep the Will of Adonai being performed? No one. When we are using the Word to guide us, we will always know where He wants us to step. Every challenge we will ever have is talked about. Every pitfall, every temptation the devil thinks up, every test Adonai engineers to show us how we have the victory in Jesus, and everything else is in there. Adonai doesn’t leave us in the dark. Ruach HaKodesh is continually shining THE LIGHT everywhere we look. He is ALWAYS revealing the truth of Adonai’s point of view everywhere we look. It’s like having a living translator turning everything shadowed into clear and unvarnished truth. Listening to Him, we will NEVER be deceived. What a GOOD God!
