Ruach HaKodesh “With Me In Spite of Me”

(All scripture from Lexham English Bible, Copyright 2012 Logos Bible Software)

Yahweh your God is in your midst; a mighty warrior who saves. He shall rejoice over you with joy; he renews you in his love; he will exult over you with singing.

Zephaniah 3:17

Adonai is with us. Ruach HaKodesh does NOT let us forget that – and we should ALL be grateful to Him for it. Life can FEEL like it is bad. Like life is terrible or overwhelming. It is EASY to see the bad things and FORGET the good things. Easy to feel like lying in bed or doom scrolling is better because it shows us what life is really like – even if that is a lie. Seeing snippets of fictional shows, news clips, behind the scenes goofiness, political hot takes, and celebrities being good people are all easier than seeing our OWN reflections and listening to our OWN situations. Life does not stop. That alone can feel like a little too much.

Time is an arrow going ever forward, but that is only from our perspective. It is more accurate to say that time is always NOW. We cannot experience the past again. That’s a trick of the mind. The past is memory, whether that memory feels like a lucid dream or a black and white rerun. The future is hopes, dread, and guessing. We are always in the NOW. But it SEEMS like time is passing. And it SEEMS uncontrollable because to us it IS uncontrollable. But Adonai is with us. Ruach HaKodesh lives inside us. Time works differently for Him. He birthed eternity. He is beyond all time. Yet He works within our perspective of it. Because He loves us and is with us and He knows what time is like for us. When it all seems like too much, Ruach HaKodesh reminds us that He is MORE THAN ENOUGH.

That’s MORE THAN our feelings. That’s MORE THAN our breathing exercises. That’s MORE THAN our inability to get out of bed. That’s MORE THAN our second, third, and more attempts to do the smallest things. That’s MORE THAN our issues. That’s MORE THAN our employment. That’s MORE THAN our paycheques that seem to fall short. That’s MORE THAN our debts. That’s MORE THAN the emotional overload while standing in line, juggling children, or commuting in cramped spaces with unknown people. He is MORE THAN anything and everything that we experience. He is MORE THAN ENOUGH.

Ruach HaKodesh reminds us of His singing. Of how He looks down on us and smiles. Not down from heaven. Down from beside us. Reaching out and cupping our chins and lifting our heads to look at Him. Reminding us that HE is who we should be focusing on and not the people screaming at us from across the counter. Reminding us that HE is the one we should be straining to hear, not the voice on the line challenging our competencies. Reminding us that He is PROUD of us. That He LOVES us. That He shows us GRACE. That it is JESUS’ performance that is being scored and NOT OURS. That HE is the escape we long for. That HE is the peace we crave. That HE is the warm hug making it all better. And that HE is the one who can take our burdens, take our cares, take our needs, and turn them into something that DOESN’T hurt or worry or overwhelm. The reminder that HE is and has the solution to everything and all we need to do is walk where He says to walk. Do what He leads us to do. That obedience in love will see us through whatever we are going through. That it is all because HE went through it and made the Way before us. Footstep to footstep. Whisper to whisper. Following Him who has our hand. Who knows our thoughts. Who sees and loves who we are in the innermost part of ourselves.

We can’t do it. We can’t face it. We can’t deal with it. But HE can. He is right there in it with us. He restores us. He washes us. He brings us HIS peace. Real peace. Calming peace. In HIM we will be able to face today and tomorrow, because He is our Source. He is our strength. He is our strong tower. In HIM, we will be able to be healed of our yesterdays because He IS healing. He IS love. He makes WHOLE what was broken. He is everything. The first and last. The beginning and the end. The journey starts with Him and ends in Him. He IS our rest.

Daily Affirmation of the Goodness of Elohim: Acts 4:12

For the one who has entered into his rest has also himself rested from his works, just as God did from his own works. Therefore, let us make every effort to enter into that rest, in order that no one may fall in the same pattern of disobedience.” Jesus is the Sabbath rest. We enter into Him and rest (Matthew 11:28-30). He has done it all. We enter into His rest and let Him do the heavy lifting. He enables us to conquer as we enter into HIS conquering. He doesn’t make US do the thing. He doesn’t make OUR efforts be the difference. We only need to accept HIM and HIS efforts. He makes the Way. We only need to see it, believe it, trust Him, and follow. He does the rest. With our hand in His, there is nothing impossible. What a GOOD God!

Your Daily Confession of Elohim’s Goodness:

I taste and see that Yahweh is good; I am blessed because I take refuge in Him.
