Fear No Fear

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus is CONSISTENT. He DOESN’T CHANGE. And because He LOVES us, He made us in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26). One of the reasons He did that is so that WE can be CONSISTENT. He even gives us His Fruit of FAITHFULNESS to start off our garden of consistency (Galatians 5:22-23). His love for us doesn’t change based on our behaviour. It doesn’t change based on whether we choose to sin or not. Our RELATIONSHIP with Him changes, but not His LOVE for us. He loved us when we were horrible sinners. He still loves us now that we are righteous believers (2 Corinthians 5:21). That is the key thing that gets us to a place of repentance when we do choose to sin. Or when we sin innocently, but then learn it is ungodly behaviour. His love guides us. We know that He loves us, so we KNOW that there is ONLY GOOD from Him. He ONLY wants GOOD for us. So anything He tells us is for OUR good, OUR benefit, and OUR blessing. We can be corrected and be joyful in accepting correction (whether we LIKE it or not), because we KNOW that it is a GOOD thing and we are changing for the BETTER, becoming more and more like Him as we CHOOSE to see everything from His point of view. Getting His Light on it, and then accepting it for what HE says it is. The consistency of Jesus’ love for us is the lodestone we use to make sure we are walking in the right direction as we accept His teaching, guidance, and correction. We trust what He says, because we know He loves us.
