“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, pleasing to all, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God,” (Colossians 1:9-10, MEV). In the VERY wee hours of this morning, my covenant partner woke me up speaking the words, ‘Tread carefully.’ I asked for clarification and the response was ‘That’s all I have. Treat carefully.’ Snores followed. That was the only message. It could have been a dream. It happens for sure. It also could have been the Lord. The Lord teaches us in our sleep, since it is easier to get something into our spirit without the doubt of our minds (Isaiah 54:13). Even though it was VERY early, it got me thinking. Am I walking in the centre of His will? He spoke to us in September of 2023 not to turn to the left or to the right without asking Him. I don’t know if we are holding to that. I wonder if we are getting close to making decisions WITHOUT asking Him about them. That’s dangerous ground. Why? Because God seeks to keep us protected. He seeks to have us equipped, empowered, and ready to do what He has called us to. He LOVES us. He doesn’t want us weak. He doesn’t want us impotent. He doesn’t want us in danger of stepping off His path and ignoring His guidance. He doesn’t want that. There is PROTECTION in obedience. There is ASSURANCE in His care. He loves us too much to let us wander without warning. To stray into the weeds when He has prepared for us a level path (Isaiah 45:2). He loves us enough to speak to us. We need to love Him enough to listen AND to obey. He ALWAYS wants the best for us. When we lean into His guidance, we’ll always get the very best from His point of view!
