“You take account of my wandering; put my tears in Your bottle; are they not in Your book?” (Psalm 56:8, MEV). Think of how close to you God needs to be to collect your tears in a bottle. Right there. Right beside you. In your face. Intimately touching you. He’s not looking on us from afar. He LOVES us. He is RIGHT THERE WITH US. Through the good and the bad and the in between. He is NOT a stranger to our suffering. Jesus went through it ALL right there with us (Hebrews 4:15). He endured sorrow. He still does. His heart can hurt. He can shed tears. He is NOT aloof. He is part of who we are. Whether we are following Him or rejecting Him, Jesus LOVES us. He hurts when we hurt. He cries when we cry. He is empathetic to us. Which is why He stays by our side. He empathizes, but shows us His Way. A way of compassion, emotion, and of godliness. A way to rid ourselves of the negative and go through everything we go through with HIS emotions, HIS Fruit, HIS point of view. It changes everything. Crippling grief that no longer cripples. Scars that heal. A past that exists, but doesn’t dominate our thinking. Trauma that no longer traumatizes. Things NOT swept under the rug, but HEALED. That is the compassion Jesus has for us. That compassion for us is what brought Him willingly to the cross. We are NOT forgotten, NOT ignored, and NOT needing to break through any doors or barriers to get to Jesus. Jesus is HERE. Jesus is NOW. And Jesus binds up broken hearts. Heals wounds. Restores and renews. Jesus LOVES us and wants us whole, healed, and full of His love. His love brings PEACE in ALL circumstances and situations.
