2026 Daily Affirmation #107

The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One, who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will renew you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17, MEV). There’s something about music. About the songs that we expose ourselves to. Music sticks with us. When we take information and put it into music, we recall it easier. We learn it easier. Emotions are tied to music and memory. In a sense, it’s a time machine that helps us relive what we heard, experienced, and what we were exposed to when we first heard it. We tend to view ourselves through our own memory and experience. But we are BLESSED because Jesus sings over us. He looks at the work HE finished. He looks at how the Father RENEWED us. God sees us as His NEW CREATION. And God SINGS about it. Puts it to a melody. God FORGETS the sins we repent of (Isaiah 43:25). But He does NOT forget who we are in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). God CELEBRATES us. God SINGS about us. The tune gets stuck in His head and again, and again, and AGAIN He finds Himself singing those little ditties about us. You’re His child. His beloved. His cherished and adored creation. He celebrates all those days you dragged yourself out of bed. The service you did for your kids, your friends, your coworkers, and your spouse. He remembers how you honoured your parents – whether you agreed with them on everything or not. The needy person you helped. The orphans. The widows. All the good things He asked you to do that you did. He sings about it ALL. He sings about you. He loves you. You’re a tune that never leaves His mind!
