“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you” (Matthew 6:33, MEV). Jesus loves us enough to tell us the truth. It is NOT seek it, find it, and rest. It is consistently, moving toward constantly, seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness FIRST. Don’t stop, because we CAN stop. We can choose to put something else first. We can choose to go into neutral and coast. It doesn’t always mean replacing Him. It can mean going stalemate. Leaving Him on read. Turning off our notifications and being content with where we are. We educate ourselves and our children. We don’t stop at Kindergarten or Grade Five or Grade Ten. We go all the way in order to be prepared to face the world. To be productive. To function. But because the Kingdom isn’t physically in front of us, we let it slide. We coast. We figure we did the big thing (salvation), so we’re good. We can pick it up when we get to the Throne. But salvation is all-encompassing. It’s an entire-life thing. Accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour, accepting what He did for you, that’s the BEGINNING and not the end- point. There’s so much more to learn, and understand. Jesus told us straight. Jesus told us not to stop leaning into Him. He told us to keep going. He told us to seek the deeper things. He doesn’t want a bunch of participation ribbons staring back at Him. He wants people who loved Him enough to walk with Him. Learn from Him. To seek to UNDERSTAND Him. Jesus loves us. Take the time. Discipline yourself. Learn how much. Understand how much. Jesus loves you. Love Him back with your time.
