2026 Daily Affirmation #118

Cast all your care upon Him, because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7, MEV). Jesus is our safe place. We can tell Him anything. We can give Him anything. He loves us. He listens to us. He picks up our burdens, and if we’ll let Him, He will carry them. He will deal with them. He will give us His peace when we seek Him and get close. His peace isn’t temporary. It isn’t until something else happens. It is a permanent thing that we find when we are leaning into Him (Exodus 33:14). We can always engage it. We don’t need a reason. It doesn’t need to make sense. It doesn’t even need to be appropriate. We can have peace in the middle of a catastrophic disaster. God’s peace isn’t a FEELING. It is an experience of the SPIRIT. It’s being calm when you would normally panic. It’s being able to communicate when you would normally clam up. It’s being able to get out of bed when you would normally hide under the covers. It can be beyond our understanding or our ability to explain. It is SECURITY. It is a knowledge that no matter what is going on around us, we are not touched by it. It’s happening, but it isn’t taking a toll on us. We’re not wearied by it. Not defeated by it. Not crushed under its weight. It’s knowing that what you NEED will be there WHEN you need it – no matter what your bank account or cupboards are telling you. It’s provision even if birds are dropping it on your porch. It’s knowing that God has you AND the situation that faces you. That God has you no matter what is trying to come on you. That Holy Spirit lives inside you and Jesus is RIGHT THERE with you. It is a peace that cannot be beat. Nothing is better than the security we have to go to God, curl up in His lap, and be SAFE.
