Fear No Fear

“No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me, says the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17, MEV). Heritage means inheritance. Inheritance is the particular characteristics we receive from our parents (physical and mental). In Jesus, we are all children of God (John 1:12). One of the CHARACTERISTICS we inherit is that God PROTECTS us. The weapons they mean to use against us will not produce what they think they will produce. God will stand between us and protect us. Forty years ago a friend and I climbed the hills behind where I lived. We went right up to the top, walking through the forest. Then we heard some noise. Loud crashing kind of noise. We immediately crouched down and hid in the underbrush (foolish). A bear and its cub passed by us. No more than twenty feet away. We waited until the noise had faded, got up, and ran the opposite direction. After a few minutes we got to the cut that had been made to put up the big electrical towers bringing power over the hill. We looked back toward the top of the hill. A grizzly cub was cavorting on a stump, doing cub things. And beside it, standing on her hind legs, staring right at us, was Momma bear. She was positioned so that we would have been unable to get to the cub without getting within arms reach of her. No matter what we brought against that cub, she would have intercepted it. We weren’t nearby. We were at least 500 metres away. But she was on guard. As soon as she detected us she was ready. She never backed down. We turned and left the area completely. It works that way with God. He is READY. He is POSITIONED. He loves us and nothing is going to harm HIS babies! There is a price for coming against those who are in Jesus. God doesn’t mess around. He protects what He loves FIERCELY.
