Fear No Fear

“God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”” (Genesis 1:28, MEV). This is the FIRST THING we as human beings heard. Direct from God to us. We were BLESSED. We don’t EVER need to chase the blessing. We don’t ever need to wonder what performative thing we are supposed to be doing in order to be blessed. All GOOD things come from God. All of them. If they are inherently and objectively good, they are from Him. He never sends us things that we can’t handle or that will harm us in any way, but from the very beginning He has tried to get good things into our hands. All we need to do to receive them is have a relationship with Him. That means aligning with Him, submitting to Him because it is right and good and proper. It means staying where He says to stay and trusting Him because we believe He is trustworthy. That’s it. It’s SO SIMPLE. Not always easy. We have to keep His Word before our eyes. We need to involve Him in all aspects of our lives. We need to find out His point of view on everything and then align ourselves with that point of view through the Word, listening to Him, and meditating on what He says. As long as we don’t let our own selfishness get in the way of what He says is right and good, we won’t have an issue obeying Him. We prevent ourselves getting in the way by realising He LOVES us and returning that LOVE. Getting a blessing isn’t the goal, it isn’t the motivation. Getting a blessing is part of what makes loving God so effortless. He isn’t keeping good things from us. We aren’t having to prove ourselves or perform or follow a strict set of rules ‘or else’. It’s loving a God who loves us so much He wants us to LIVE in His blessing. Kinda hard not to love back someone who is so awesome, right?
