“For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16, MEV). God is FAR above us (Isaiah 55:8-9). The creator is ALWAYS greater than the created (Romans 1:25). There is nothing that we can teach God, no instance where we can come up with something that couldn’t cross His mind first (Isaiah 40:12-14). Since this is truth, what chance do we have? How can we do anything but wait and implore and seek Him for what to do? Well, that would be an unbalanced relationship. We’d never be able to make a move. There are a lot of things that happen FAST. They require a near-instantaneous response. Imagine trying to drive a vehicle, but you have to ask for instructions before you do anything? It would be a nightmare and dangerous to everyone else on the road. God loves us too much to leave us like that. To fix this, God gave us Jesus. Jesus gave us Holy Spirit to dwell inside us. Through Holy Spirit, we have access to all the things of God. Through Holy Spirit, we have access to the mind of Jesus. Jesus PREPARES us. Jesus TRAINS us. Holy Spirit is there to guide us, direct us, and correct us. We have access to the Fruit that make up God’s moral character (Galatians 5:22-23). We have access to His Word, which is the will of God (Psalm 119:105). We can train our minds, and Jesus ENCOURAGES us to train our minds, so that we can align with what God wants, what God thinks, and what God wills (Romans 12:2). We are equipped, empowered, encouraged, and corrected when we step wrong because when we align with God and start to think the same way He thinks about something, we KNOW what He would do. What He would have us do. Yes, we still check with Him whenever we can. That’s simple common sense. But in those split seconds when we have to do or not do something? To say or not say something? We will ALREADY know the right thing because we KNOW what God thinks, how God speaks, and how God acts. We will emulate Him because we share the same mind on it! What an AMAZING gift to us. What a GOOD God!
