2026 Daily Affirmation #146

If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, even as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love” (John 15:10, MEV). One of the best things about God is that He doesn’t prevaricate. He doesn’t say one things and mean another. He doesn’t hum and haw and go around and around a subject without ever hitting on it. God is CLEAR. God is FIRM. God is CONSISTENT. God is TRUTHFUL. Not part-truths or front a certain point of view truths. Truthful. He says what He means and He means what He says. We always know where we stand with God if we’ll take the time to talk to Him and investigate His Word. He doesn’t contradict His Word. There aren’t missing parts we have to track down. There aren’t sacred books hiding somewhere in the world that tell the ‘real’ story. There aren’t books that people kept out of the scriptures because they told a hidden or sacred narrative that we weren’t ready for. All of that kind of thing is human thinking, broken thinking, and denies both who Jesus is and the power that is invested in Him. The more time goes by, the more accurate the scripture gets as we learn more and more of the original documents. What we find is a consistent thread throughout scripture, consistent translation, and an ever-sharpening view of the Word. What we DON’T find is that a given translation (KJV for example) was completely wrong and off-base. We find that there is some nuance they may have missed, but the main thrust of it is accurate. The message was not spoiled. Holy Spirit wrote the Word, not human beings. He wrote it clearly. He talks to us about it. Jesus taught us about it. The Father proclaims it. And it is all CLEAR. It is all SIMPLE – not easy. God does this and did this and will continue doing this because He loves us. Because He doesn’t want us to miss out. Because He wants us to understand and strengthen our understanding. To build on it, grow it, and deepen it. He loves us and wants us to know Him – truly KNOW Him. That’s why He is clear. That’s why He doesn’t contradict.
