Fear No Fear

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6, MEV). Jesus is the Way. He is the start of our journey to the Father (2 Corinthians 3:18). Once we are saved, that is the journey we are on. That is the journey we take. Every day. Step by step. Getting His Light on every corner of our being, of our lives, and of our thoughts. Becoming more and more like Jesus every day. That takes a LOT of searching, a LOT of study, and a LOT of trusting in Jesus to complete the work He started in us the moment we accepted Him as Saviour and Lord (Philippians 1:6). It is our decision to FOLLOW Jesus that starts it all. That decision holds us to the path. Yes, we could sit at the doorstep and go no further. We could live a VERY poor life. But that isn’t why Jesus came (John 10:10). The whole point of creation itself is for human beings to be in a relationship with God. That’s why creation was created. That’s why God formed us personally. That is what LIFE is (John 17:3). The gift is how Jesus opened the door, became the Way, and enabled us to come inside the Covenant. The BLESSING is the journey. The BLESSING is the RELATIONSHIP. Thankfully, Jesus does not leave us standing at the doorstep. We can refuse to move, but He is there offering us His hand. Leading us deeper into the Lord. Holy Spirit lives within us to give us guidance and to correct us. We need both of those. We need to know where to set our feet. And we need to know when we step wrong. How else can we learn? How else can we be sorry and endeavour not to make that misstep again by changing our thinking about that thing? How else can we retrain our minds to God’s point of view, to embrace His moral character? Jesus is with us every step of the way. Jesus is right there, leading us toward the Father. Ever closer. Jesus loved us enough to make the Way. Jesus loves us enough to lead us along the Way. Jesus loves us enough to help us in the Way.
