2026 Daily Affirmation #164

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17, MEV). Jesus loved us enough to pray that we would be set apart and purified, consecrated to enjoy a relationship with God. Truth is important. We should all be embracing it in every way we can in every place of our lives – physical, mental, and spiritual. There should be no room in our lives for lies of ANY kind. There should be no room for dishonesty of ANY kind. At ANY time for ANY reason. Humanity CANNOT do this on our own. We have built a world in which lies have a respected place. We’ve built a world full of secrets and false fronts. We have spent our lives training our minds to accept it, revel in it, and develop it. It is a challenge and a struggle for us to walk away from that. On our own we would NEVER succeed. Jesus loved us enough to pray for the ONE thing that COULD accomplish it: the Word. Romans 12:2 tells us that we need to use the Word as a tool to retrain our minds to God’s point of view. To His Way of thinking. THAT is how we break the cycle of lies. THAT is how we get freedom from falsehood. I’m not going to lie. It can hurt. We’re pulling out hooks that we embedded in us a long time ago. And there are a lot of them. But we are making this journey hand in hand with the One who provided our HEALING, our SALVATION, and NEVER EVER leaves us. The journey toward TRUTH is long and difficult, but not because truth is difficult. Truth is easy. It’s the ACCEPTING that it is easy, it’s the SAYING it without being ignorant, and it’s the REJECTION that lies are okay in some circumstances that makes it difficult. It’s our TRAINING. But Jesus KNEW it would be difficult. He had spent a lifetime choosing to speak truth instead of lie. Choosing to be compassionate in love, instead of imitating compassion with lies. Choosing to tell the hard things so that NO ONE could EVER say they didn’t know better. Jesus KNEW how hard that is. And He LOVED us. So He PRAYED for us. He opened the Way for us. And He got Himself – the Word – into physical form so that WE could benefit. So that WE could relearn what we were always meant to know. So that WE could live lives of truth.
