2026 Daily Affirmation #167

See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me;” (Isaiah 49:16, MEV). God loves us enough to make it personal. God was speaking to Jerusalem, and through that the nation of Israel. He was telling them in their dire need that He had not forgotten them. He had inscribed the name of the city on His palm. He knew of its walls. He encouraged its builders. The city that He chose He had not forgotten. It was an idea that that Lord had earlier applied to the people who followed Him (Isaiah 44:5), those who wrote His name on their hands as a sign they belonged to Him. God was saying that He wrote Jerusalem on His hand as a sign that it belonged to Him – and by extension the people it represented. As adopted children of God (Ephesians 1:5), we are part of that group. We are part of a name that God inscribed on His palm as an everlasting remembrance. We are personally part of it. One of the things that makes God GOD is His ability to deal with each and every one of us – at the same time – as if we were the ONLY person. We ALL have ALL of His attention ALL the time – yes, that makes no human sense. God makes His relationship to us PERSONAL. He adopted us and calls us His children (1 John 3:1). He calls us FRIENDS (John 15:15). He wants to KNOW us and for us to KNOW Him (John 17:3). He went to the cross for YOU. You PERSONALLY. It was all worth it just to know YOU. To open the Way and give you the opportunity to know Him. To come to God and be restored. To be replanted in the Kingdom instead of left in the darkness. If no one else EVER gets saved but you, Jesus says that it was worth it (Revelation 3:20; Hebrews 12:2). That’s how much He loves YOU. YOU were – and are – worth EVERYTHING.
