2026 Daily Affirmation #170

For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of Hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He shall be called the God of the whole earth” (Isaiah 54:5, MEV). Jesus loved us enough to marry us. Love is a choice. It is a decision. It comes with passion, feelings, joys, ups, and downs. But it is a choice and not something that sweeps away all logic and reason. We choose to love who we love and we hold to that choice as long as we continue to choose it. It is that simple. The person we choose becomes our person. It isn’t automatic. It isn’t something we have no control over. It isn’t a want or a need. It is a decision. That decision – over time – makes that person OUR person (not in an ownership sense). They know us more intimately than anyone else because we show ourselves to them over and over. Layer after layer. We share thoughts, ideas, moments, actions, and intimacy. It isn’t about dates and milestones. It’s about knowing them so deeply on so many levels, that they become a part of who you are. Jesus chose to love us. God chose to create us. Because God loves us. Because God wants to know us that intimately. He wants us to be His ‘person’ and to be our ‘person’ in return. To continually peel back layer after layer, learning about who we are and who He is. Getting so intimate and interconnected that eventually we’ll have no idea where one begins and the other ends – although that will be once we are finished being perfected and we stand before the Throne face to face. God loved us THAT much. To be a husband to us and to let us be a wife to Him. To be connected, co-mingled, and intimately knowledge about each other. He loves us enough to be our ‘other half’.
