2026 Daily Affirmation #195

Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes” (Matthew 24:46, MEV). Jesus loves us enough to be a rewarder, not an expector. God has every right to EXPECT obedience. He IS God. He IS above all things. He IS righteous. He IS holy. He IS. There is no doubting it or getting around it. He occupies the place He occupies because He is who He is. He has every right to give us a command and expect us to obey it. He doesn’t do that. He asks us to obey Him. He tells us to obey Him. And while He does not hide the consequences of disobedience from us, He doesn’t focus on them. He focuses instead on the benefits of obedience. He isn’t holding a stick waiting to thump us. He’s holding gifts and benefits and eager to let us access them. He is a REWARDER. He ENJOYS it. He LIKES to see us content. To see us achieving. To see us multiplying. To see us being fruitful. From the spiritual to the physical to the emotional to the relational to the financial. All the ways that make us human beings. What is in our hearts MATTERS. Our situation MATTERS. And He isn’t looking at it all from a bean counter perspective. You can be exceedingly blessed and prosperous while remaining in circumstances that look very ‘less than’ from the outside. We’re not chasing a golden rainbow. We’re seeking a relationship with God. And there are benefits to that relationship. Not as incentive to do something. But as a TRUTH of getting close to Him. If you get into a relationship with a musician, you’re going to hear music at some point. With a crafter, you’re going to be gifted a crafty thing at some point. Not as payment for friendship, but as an extension of how they feel about you. It comes from love. It is the same with God. God LOVES us and so wants to BLESS us. When we LOVE Him, we want to partake in Him – which includes the BLESSING. God is a rewarder. In order to encourage us. In order to help us. Because He LOVES us. And when we love Him in return, we’ll find ourselves obeying because of that love.
