“For also it is contained in the Scripture, “Look! I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes in Him shall never be put to shame.”” (1 Peter 2:6, MEV). Jesus loves us enough to be our rock. Jesus, and the revelation of who He is as the Son of God, was the foundation of the Church. The rock upon which everything is built (Matthew 16:18). That is a revelation that some people stumble over. They refuse to accept it and it messes up their worldview, their beliefs, and how they function spiritually. But that isn’t WHY Jesus became the rock. Jesus became the rock to be a FOUNDATION. To provide STRUCTURE and SECURITY to our lives. When the Earth shakes – and shake it will – Jesus is the ONLY thing that isn’t going to be shaking. He is going to be the ONLY solid ground that we can depend on to not move. To be the shelter we are all going to want. Jesus can be relied upon. He can be trusted. He can be believed. He’s NEVER steered ANYONE wrong. Everyone who has EVER trusted in Him has been victorious. Has overcome their trials and tribulations. They will be rewarded. God doesn’t mess around. He is trustworthy and faithful. He protects us. He makes the place open where we can live and breathe and rejoice in Him. Where our needs are met. Where we are blessed enough to bless those around us. Where we can thrive in adverse circumstances, becoming a witness to all those around us of His goodness, His protection, and His strength. We won’t have to be ashamed of Him. Not EVER. We can believe Him. We can trust in Him. And if we do, we will not be on shifting sand. We can dig down into Him and find security. Safety. And stability. Never alone. Never abandoned. Always there to show us the proper path, the godly decision, and the Word-based solution. He is there to correct us. To help us through repentance and alignment with Him. He loves us too much to leave us shaking, shifting, and falling. In HIM we have stable ground no matter WHAT is going on around us.
