Fear No Fear

“I command you, in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and in the sight of Christ Jesus, who testified a good confession before Pontius Pilate, to keep this commandment without blemish, blameless until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He, who is the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, will reveal at the proper time” (1 Timothy 6:13-15, MEV). Jesus loved us enough to reveal Himself to us as the King of Kings – Yahweh God Almighty. Jesus IS the Great I AM. Jesus IS God. He told us that when He came, and the religious elite wanted to kill Him for identifying Himself as God (John 10:33). Jesus IS the King. A king owns the dominion over the entire national territory. The king can assign a piece of the land to you for stewardship, but He retains ownership of it. The king is sovereign over that nation. Over that land. In Jesus’ case, that land is Creation. ALL of it. That doesn’t mean He dominates it. It means He has dominion over it. He is sovereign, but He gives us free will. He is ultimately responsible for it, but allows us to operate within it. Just like the king of an earthly nation is sovereign and the final authority, but people can still choose to obey or disobey the laws of that king. The consequences and repercussions of Jesus’ kingship go far beyond that of an earthly king. Jesus’ name holds His authority. The stamp of His identity as King of Kings. As the ultimate authority that all will bow before – sooner or later. It cannot be avoided. It cannot be ignored. He is what He is and no one else can take His place. It isn’t even a question. The ‘war’ is the enemies of God screaming, crying, and desperately trying to avoid the inevitable. Yes, Jesus is our friend. Yes, He is our Lord. But He is also THE King. His commands are not suggestions. He is to be obeyed. What He says goes because His point of view is the TRUTH. It cannot be argued away, explained away, or avoided. If He says it is, then it IS. Period. Full stop. Jesus is KING. We humbly submit to that. He deals with us in love. He is not a tyrant. He is not inconsistent. He is a righteous and just King. He can be trusted. He is faithful. He is in control. And He loves us so much He made access for us to come to Him. To come to the Throne. He is King of the Universe, and He makes time for you. And for me. For all of us.
